Sect included Jeevan Vigyan (SOL) as one of the its important dimensions in 1979.

The Jeevan Vigyan or Science of Living is an approach to understand life and its values. In other words, it is a Value Oriented Education. Merely by theoretical knowledge, a student cannot acquire his potential and be dutiful to the society. There is a need for a coordination between theory and practice. The Jeevan Vigyan is a combination of both.

SOL includes a number of moral values like, Wisdom, Knowledge, Gratitude, Courage, Humanity, Justice, Hope, Mercy, Temperance, Spirituality, Forgiveness, Humor, Enthusiasm, Curiosity, Love of Learning, Perspective, Open-Mindedness, Ingenuity, Originality, Practical Social Intelligence, Valor, Kindness,Perseverance, Honesty, Generosity, Loyalty, Leadership, Discretion, Humility. It is said that Prevention is better than cure. Since most of the moral values are based on mental and emotional development and the development takes place at initial phase of human life, the SOL acts as a preventive measure.

In year 2000, Jain Vishva Bharati established Kendriya Jeevan Vigyan Academy at Ladnun to coordinate all the activities of Jeevan Vigyan viz. develop guidelines, norms and reporting system; develop literature, training syllabus, programs and trainers; help academies to operate smoothly in their areas.
